- How to get it
- Complete 1,000 hours of approved barber school (or 1,500 hours as a registered apprentice), then pass the MA Board exam β written (sanitation, law, theory) + practical (haircut, shave on a live model). Apply through the Division of Occupational Licensure.
- Cost
- Exam + license fee: ~$100β$200. Renewal every 2 years: ~$50β$80.
